Knifemakers face a wide choice of steels — carbon steels, stainless steels, various tool steels, etc. The list can be bewildering, especially for those who are just beginning to take up knifemaking. In this video bladesmith Walter Sorrells discusses the types of steel which are available on the market — and which ones are best for various different kinds of knives.

This video demonstrate how to sort SUS304 and 316 by using Molybdenum test kit. Please email us at sales@ agpindonesia.com for more detail
Additional notes:
1) For series 200 stainless, the nickel test spot shows dark brown color instead of yellow. However there is no way to tell if this is 1% Ni or 4%%. What we know that it is below 8%. You may want to use manganese test kit to determine the percentage
2) Series 400 stainless steel also shows yellow color after electrospot with Ni detecting solution. But you could easily use magnet to sort 400 from 300/200
3) We are currently only able to ship to Indonesia
