Steel 1.2379 (D2), hardened up to 60 HRc, guard – 10 mm copper plate, handle – white mahogany. The blade is stick tang, it is just glued in the handle. The handle is impregnated with a mixture of turpentine, linseed oil and wax.
At the beginning I was thinking to make the handle with guard and heel from stainless steel (AISI 304), but a 10 mm copper plate was gifted to me and so I decided, that the red color of the copper, the white of the mahogany and the natural brown of the leather will be much better combination.
