Tom Pack from ‘Team Gorgeous’ performs a flawless maiden flight of his 6.7 meter, 1:3 scale, Rosenthal Duo Discus at the Silent Knights Soaring Society in Newark, Delaware.

The aircraft has a custom machined alloy spar that replaces the stock fiberglass spar. The spar is a solid round bar made from 7075 aluminum. It’s very light and feels as strong as steel. The custom spar was impressive by itself. I couldn’t put a bend in it as hard as I could try, haha

The flights in this video occurred on April 25th, a Saturday.
The winds were gusting to around 10mph that day and the clouds were overcast, but the sky opened up as the day went on.
