In this episode of TIG Time we are welding on an engine mount that was brought to us for some repair. The mount is made of 4130 Chrome Moly and goes on a small, 2 seat aircraft called a Hummel Bird.

Aircraft engine mounts often develop small cracks that need repaired due to engine vibration. In this case, we show you how to prepare for welding tubular mounts by drilling a pressure hole as well as how to weld the crack. After the crack is welded, we will let the part cool down and re-weld the hole.
