Australian Trains and Railways: Melbourne Steel Trains

Steel train action around Melbourne, Australia. The first sequence shows train 1WM2 at Jacana, led by NR107/G530/NR63/NR91, with a load of steel in various forms (and five wagons loaded with sugar at the rear). Then we move to North Melbourne, with G541/BL34 departing the former Melbourne Steel Terminal, where transshipment between standard and broad gauges used to occur, with a train bound for Long Island. The last sequence shows the (broad gauge) steel train to Long Island behind BL34/BL29 emerging from under Federation Square, in the Melbourne CBD. (The Melbourne Steel Terminal relocated to South Dynon not long after this video was shot in October 2015).
