Sharpening knives razor sharp with a belt sander from Harbor Freight is AWESOME! I was able to fix a few blades and get every knife I own razor sharp in a fraction of the time. Spent about 1/3 less than on a “work sharp” kit and got a better more versatile machine.
You can sharpen anything from a Fillet knife to an axe or lawnmower blade this way.

NOTE: Loosen the adjustment screws on the vertical belt support and move it all the way back then re-tighten the screws. This helps the machine be more forgiving on getting your edge and gives you that convex edge you want.
