This was just a quick check to see if the extreme difference in these steels could be seen on something as simple as a garden hose :
-OTK EDC : k390 at 64 HRC
-Svord : l6 at 54/56 HRC
The end result is not really, both can easily do 100 cuts with little to no obvious difference on fine work. However, and this is the main point of the video, cutting just regular materials without a lot of controls can result in wild deviations.
On one of the runs the Svord hit a piece of grit and the edge was scraped off. If the performance of the steel/knife was judged from that then very misleading conclusions could have been reached. The same random thing could have happened to the OTK either.
As an aside, the sheath on the OTK/EDC is a very fine example of Kydex work.
