Stainless steel Grade 304 is the most commonly known and used of the stainless steel grades. This is because of its versatility meaning it can be used for a range of things more than any of the other 300 grades of steel.
Also known as 18/8 (18% chromium 8% nickel). 304 has superior forming and welding characteristics and can be deep drawn more intensely than other types without immediate heat softening. This has made 304 the leading type of steel for drawn stainless steel parts such as sinks, saucepans and other cutlery.
