What is the steel structure?
Structural steel is a category of steel used as a construction material for makingstructural steel shapes. A structural steel shape is a profile, formed with a specific cross section and following certain standards for chemical composition and mechanical properties.

What temperature does steel lose its structural integrity?
It is known that structural steel begins to soften around 425°C and loses about half of its strength at 650°C. This is why steel is stress relieved in this temperature range. But even a 50% loss of strength is still insufficient, by itself, to explain the WTC collapse.

What is steel frame construction?
Jump to: navigation, search. Steel framed housing development. … Steel frame is a building technique with a “skeleton frame” of vertical steel columns and horizontal I-beams, constructed in a rectangular grid to support the floors, roof and walls of a building which are all attached to the frame.

Steel structure is composed of fundamental structural components. These fundamental structures can be joined preferably to erect an structure of desired shape, size and strength.
The fundamental steel structures are:
Beam
Column
Girder
Strut
Frame
Truss, etc.
Composite section of steel with RCC is also used at various places to provide lateral strength.
These structures are erected by joining steel members using fasteners.
Some of standard steel members(according to BIS) are as follows:
ISF Flat plates
ISA Angle sections(L section)
ISHB Heavy beam sections
ISLB Large beam sections
ISMB Middle beam sections
ISJB Junior beam sections
ISC Channel sections
ISRO Round sections
ISSQ Square sections
ISSC Special channel sections
etc.
The structural fasteners used to make connection between these members are as follows:
Nut+Bolt
Rivet
Weld
